Our History
The beginnings (2001)
Qellqa Visiones Peruanas SAC was formally constituted in 2001 in Lima, Peru.
At that time, my partner, who is an architect, had completed a course in Andean design and I had just returned from Italy after completing a diploma course in import-export organized by the Lombardy region. We had a lot of impetus and will to contribute to the development of the country, but we understood that the free market and the globalization process had just begun and we were not prepared as a nation for what was to come.
So I decided to "swim like a sea seal" towards the protection of roots, identity and what sustains the Andean culture.
A path of sensitization
The journey was not an easy one. From state to religious institutions, few recognized the value of a culture that demanded to be seen. They were years of talks and work to raise awareness about the importance of Andean culture, accompanying communities such as Mito, Aco, Quicha Grande, Quicha Chico, Vicso, Janjaillo, Jisse, Orcotuna, Tinayari Chico, Tinyari Grande, Iscos, among others. Also, together with women from Cañete, Condoray, Playa Hermosa, Roma, San Agustín de Cajas, Hualhuas, Quilcas, San Jerónimo and San Pedro de Saños, an endless number of threads full of cultural and human value were woven.
Yanantin House (2007)
At the end of this period of sensitization, I decide to put into practice the ideas and cultural concepts from a concrete space: the land that belonged to my ancestors.
In June 2007, together with my partner on the road, we gave life to Casa Yanantin, a family home built mainly with natural materials in Maravilca.
But in the Andean world, the house, or wasi, has a deeper connotation than in Western culture: It is an energetic space at the level of the microcosm and to give meaning to my path I organize from this space meetings of architecture on earth, permaculture courses, bio-construction workshops, marches for the protection of the ancestral path Qhapaq Ñan, the educational proposal Qhapaq Amaru, as well as multiple workshops and technical visits with students from universities, institutes and schools always with the clear intention of sowing seeds that allow to preserve the concepts of Sumaq Kawsay - Good living.
A new beginning
Today, with gratitude for each stage lived, I return to the project of Qellqa Visiones Peruanas SAC, with a renewed and clear vision of my cultural roots.
With an honest spirit, we seek to weave cultural threads beyond the territory of Abya Yala, bringing identity, sustainability and Andean spirituality to the world.
